Grim a slog as someone suggested to me the w/e ? Haven't done it for years but I thought I remembered it wasn't that bad ? Depends on weather I guess ?
Very weather dependent. My first year was a mudbath - I often had to pedal to keep rolling downhill. It took me almost 6 1/2 hours and IIRC I was the 12th person to finish.
Other years, it's been lovely and dry and despite being much less fit, I finished considerably faster than that first year.
In nice weather it's an incredibly pleasant event.
In not nice weather, and depending on the route, there will be sections that will not be pleasant, but the atmosphere, organisation are still the same (i.e great)

Great ride, actually quite strenuous. Snowed hard one year and we had to sit it out behind a wall, last year....sorry this year it was dry but very windy.
