Want to make it a bit cheaper and make my own.

Any good recipes that I could use?

just grab a flapjack recipie off the bbc good food, make it as lean or as sugary as you think you need

porridge oats, sultanas, smashed up nuts, bind it together with melted butter, honey or treacle or whatever sucrose if you want, mix it all together, lay it out on a papered tray and oven

tip, when cold and cut up, wrap in more greaseproof paper and use masking tape to stick the folds, easy to tear open when on the go

I've been using this for a while. It's got roughly the right ratio of carb and protein if you work out the size you need per hour. Recommend using really good peanut butter.

Made a batch of these, they are nice

Also rice cakes work well (can do sweet or savoury)
