Hi all
Trying to make a bit of carbon protection for the downtube/bb area on my carbon 456 to protect against stone/boulder damage -like what you see on more modern expensive frames.
A bit of old inner tube is too thin to provide any meaningful protection I think.......what would you use?
TIA
Correx. Basically plastic cardboard.
Thanks
Can I mould that to any shape? The DT is a pretty funky shape
It has a 'grain', which it can fold around. Good for long tubes. For the funkier shapes, it can have bits cut out so it bends. Then just zip tie in place.
It's great stuff, and you can also make mud guards. Also, allen keys can be stashed in the holes for the full endooooro look.

Seen cut up old enduro tyre attached with cable ties as well - the knobb;ly bits stop anything hitting the tube
I use Trek Remedy rubber protection.  It appears to work on several bikes - I don’t use it on a Trek!
Cut up old tyre FTW.
Free, simple, fitted in mins. Not for the blingmerchants though as a bit fugly.
