My insurance renewal has just come through with M&S, I have used them for years (no claims) and believe them to be pretty good from what I have heard; however the cost is now £700.
The insurance is ideal as the bike/s do not need to be stipulated as long as the value doesn't exceed a maximum (for each).
Not sure what to do and would value members opinion; you only know how good insurance is when you need it.
I need a good quality insurance product flexible for multiple bikes, not stipulated and hopefully a bit cheaper.

have just checked their docs online, appears only up to a grand per bike?

i'm with m&s and its up to 4 grand per item

i'd stay with them if you have same policy as they don't offer new customers such good terms on bikes so you couldn't go back

Ours got to a similar stupid level this year. Have moved to Sainsburys. Away from home (which is extra) they only cover to 2k (over £750 needs specifying). However was told on the phone that at home they are covered to individual item limit.

Recently covered all mine with coop, bikes over £1K had to be itemised and are covered up to £2.5K per bike.

I've been with the AA for some years now and they've been brilliant. Bikes are named items and are insured to their replacement value. Considerably cheaper than M&S, though I noticed the premiums have leapt up this year - all my quotes were up by a good 25%.

I am really struggling to find insurance that will cover the bikes in the garage. Outbuilding contents is limited to between 2k and 5k which is below what I need. Any ideas or suggestions?

Went with NFU. Cheapest I found which offered the same cover as M&S used to.

Gee - NFU will probably do it - you'll need to specify the bikes seperately but if they're in a locked building you're good.

Thanks for the NFU idea. They are calling me back on Monday. AA have a 3k garage limit. CoOp have 2k garage limit.

Have you tried Green Insurance?

Green Insurance FTW! Apparently they have a panel of insurers and one or two of them are specialists when it comes to high value items in outbuildings. Recommended.
