Anyone service their own fork dampers?
What do you use as a shaft clamp to hold it in a vice.
Fox want £100 for the proper clamp set. 😯
Anyone had any luck drilling the appropriate sized hole in two bits of wood?

Hi Stu,

Used the drilled wood method when I serviced my reverb recently which worked ok.
Cannondale do a couple of size clamps but depends what size the shaft is

Thanks all so far.
It's a 34mm shaft.

I drilled a series of different sized holes in a piece of oak and then sawed down the middle. Slip damper in the correct hole and clamp together in the vise.

Works a treat.

The other trick is to 'tickle' the damper/shaft assembly with a hot air gun before unscrewing any caps/plastic nuts.
