Who are we all using for multiple mid-priced bikes (£650 - £2000 RRP) home insurance, please?

I’m currently with AA who had reasonable bike policies and have had John Lewis and M&S in the past.

Halifax will cover mulitple bikes up to £3k (per bike)  in and away from home for a nominal extra charge.

Pedal cover who will also cover up to  your agreed away from home in a locked camper which I was pleased about.

How ever if like me you have a few older bikes they only cover 50% on bikes over 10 years old which is fair to a point but it's rare my bikes are ****ed like your average 10 year-old bike apart from my roadie

Definitely Pedalcover, home insurance but with proper bike insurance including away from home, cover if you get mugged for your bike, crash damage, third party insurance, airline insurance, race insurance and many other cyclist specific benefits, I've just renewed with them and it wasn't much more than my old house insurance with no bike cover. Damn nice people too, mostly staffed by cyclists. Mate of mine had a hefty claim with them a few years back after their Centreparcs chalet got turned over for all their bikes, all paid no fuss.

The last time (a couple of years ago) Pedalcover were a good 75% more expensive than the bulk of my quotes. I check them out again this time though.

Pedalcover - we had to make a claim this year. Initial AXA claim was ok. It took four months, multiple ignored emails and phone calls, incorrect insurance underwriter contact information and just a faff and slow to get the £600 excess back, then you need to buy another excess policy, which was 2x the price of an online policy from elsewhere.

Then the renewal came in, due to claim I expected a rise. Last year £400 ish, this year nearly £700...

I'm now insured with Aviva who have matched Pedalcover's cover (so kit and bikes away from home, bikes in outbuildings etc), all for just under £400 with a small excess of £100.

I can echo Matt above - I've been with Aviva for the last 3 years. Decent level of cover and the price has always been competitive, although never had to make a claim.

Probably far from the cheapest  but if you have a lot of high end bikes it's worth having, John Lewis Specialist insurance gives very high level of cover. Also from submitting  claim to cash pay out in my account was about 3 weeks no issues.

Privilege platinum covers my fleet. Had the unfortunate opportunity to test their policy and they paid out for replacing garage roof and my bikes.
