Wanting to change my middle ring. Without the cap removal tool, is there a way of getting the cranks off?

Should be able to bodge something to get it off - it's not mega-tight I don't think. Think I just used some pliers in the middle

You can change the middle ring without taking the cranks off as the big ring comes off too...

Same bolts as I remember... 😉

Unless you cant slide the middle ring over the pedal that is.

i found a tyre lever is about the right width to jam in and undo the cap.

it shouldn't be tight, it's just to preload the bearings after all.

Have you undone the pinch bolts on the arm first - they might be nipping it a bit?

if you take the cranks off, it'll be a good excuse to have a clean of everything too 🙂

Undo the pinch bolts and then use a 20p piece. Works really well.
