You need to check , they might be cracking and are on the point of failure.

Oh no wait what was I thinking they will be just fine

Nor mine on both bikes I rode today, I am concerned about the wear on the drive side of my gnarpoon though, should I replace just to be sure? It gets all of about 1ft of air every so often.

Weird, but mine neither. Must be a fluke,.

I fully expect them to snap next time & die in a fiery ball of flaming death..

You're wierd can't you see the truth. I've just replaced all the tubes on my bike with solid bars. It's the future no gain in weight and 200% of people surveyed (i answeeed twwice) said it rode better.

Mine also didn't snap but they had have finally worn where the NDS bearing sits causing a bit of play.

Mine are the shrodinger model hollowtech 2. Whilst in the bike cupboard they are both snapped and intact. Only by opening the door will I find out😉

Afaik, mine didn’t snap today, but the bike is in the spare room, and the cat does lie underneath it, so if she has rubbed her tail off them, they could have snapped and killed her.

if i go home to be greeted by only one cat, i will know the truth.

so if she has rubbed her tail off them, they could have snapped and killed her

More likely she's just catatonic

I thought mine had snapped, but it turned out to just be the noise of a twig breaking as I pedalled over it. Much relief.

I don’t have hollowtech cranks but if I did then I suspect they wouldn’t have snapped today.

Even considering the date.

and the weather.

Mine are fine as far as I know.

I was thinking of getting some lightweight tune cranks, someone told me emphatically that Zee Germans are stronger and don't crack?

I didn't ride my bike yesterday but I was so worried, I've zip tied all the cranks to the frame so that if they do snap, they don't damage the floor in the bike room.

I gave my bike a proper dapping today, zero failures from my SLXs - been using them and their forebears since ‘08 so any day now.

They'll snap tomorrow. Then you'll be wishing you'd got solid ones instead.

Just checked mine over after a wash down... no obvious snap.

Although I noticed they are 175mm long, so now they too are out of date/fashion/trend like the rest of my 10spd 26" alu' XC hardtail.  ****!.

Years ago I snapped the crank on a Mini, I don't think it was SLX though and it was very solid
