I'm off Darn Sarf for my jollies in August and am wondering which bike to pack.
We have a week booked at Devon Cliffs just east of Exmouth, I'm pretty certain the full bouncer will be wasted, but I can't quite work out whether I'd be better off with the rigid MTB or the road bike. I've spied a railway path from Exmouth to Sidmouth, but that doesn't look like it would keep me amused for long...

Anyone from that neck of the woods care to share your experience (and/or GPX files )

You'll only be 1/2 an hour away from Haldon forest or Woodbury common. Loads of riding at both places

I'm looking to ride from the site ideally, planning for an hour or so early in the morning rather than a day out...

Road bike if you like really short, steep climbs. There are some brutes to the east if you go Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer, Seaton. Follow NCN Route 2 basically.
