Giving tubeless another go and want to fill holes from inside.
Currently using thick patch and superglue ,is there anything proper?
I'd like a mtb version of those mushrooms motorbikes use.

Yeah there is tubless repair kit very good and easy to use without taking the tyre off. Only had to use it once but the repair from flint on SDW held for 18 months until I wore the tyre out.

I ripped a massive hole in a tubeless tyre coming down Snowdon a few years back. Just cut a section off an old dual ply high roller and glued it in place. Never failed me.

I'm currently looking for a smaller version of Tyre Turds, I think the regular ones would be too thick for the average hole I tend to get in my tyres. Popping the tyre off and patching with normal repair kit works very well but you can't be certain it'll inflate again without a fight. Today I got a puncture just as an almighty downpour rolled in, luckily it sealed up as I carried on riding but I was wishing I could jam a rubber thingie into the hole to quickly sort it out!

Those anchovies are great on the trail ,they just don't seem like a proper fix.

Hutchinson rep'air kit - basically vulcanising glue you pour into the hole from the outside (which you can do trailside) and thick patches for larger holes or stronger repairs.

Been carrying one in my pack since going tubeless, only needed to use it once on a week-old schwalbe nobby nick that sliced open with a 2cm gash. Dabbed out the sealent, pulled the hole open a bit, dropped the glue in and held it back together. Rode well enough to finish a normal ride (about an hours worth), then took the tyre off and did the proper inside patch as well - it's still on a bike, running without issue.

Panaracer Tubeless Repair Kit.

It's the stuff you thread through and comes with a big sheet of rubber you cut into strips and you get a lot of strips out of it.

That's trail side and no need to remove the tyre. Supposedly they hold good for the rest of the life of the tyre. Not had to use one yet though but people keep recommending the stuff to me.

Otherwise any stuff to fix from the inside. Probably can use tube repair patches, though I got a tubeless kit which to be honest look similar, just bigger patches.

Other thing is use plenty of sealant and small holes will fix themselves. Just had a look at my rear tyre today and can see a couple of tiny holes and some stuff had obviously caught them. Never lost pressure during the ride wherever it happened.

Finally, a subject on here that i know loads about.

The kit that househusband above has linked to is the daddy, follow the instructions and the repair will last the life of the tyre. I have just binned a Hans Damph that was losing all the side knobbles. It has probably done a good 8 hard months, it has 5 of those bad boys in place and they are as solid as a rock.

You can also remove them and patch from the inside. I have done this a few times and never had an issue.

The anchovies can be ordered cheap as chips from ebay along with more vulcanising glue as needed.

Seems a common issue with Hans Damph. Tyre that should be lasting a year or two, dead in half the time with side knobbles breaking off. At least from many I've seen.

My patches are holding , pump it up to 60psi no goo coming out.
Down to 30psi bump up and down the kerb still fine , park bike and 5 minutes later flat as you know what.
Put a tube in . It's a battle for another day.

I bought one of those Weldtite kits. Never had to use it. Just as well really as the instructions are pants - just look like the instructions for a traditional puncture kit.

Do you really need all the Gubbins in the kit?

They do if you keep them in the garage 🙂

I found that weldtite stuff good for large thorn type of holes, but it's rubbish when you've got a slash in a tyre - that's when the hutchinson or panaracer ones come into their own.

Apart from the yellow crayon, yes I think so, to get the job done properly. You can also halve the sticky strings - you really don't need them that long.

Insertion tool and worms only?? i would say you also need the tube of glue as well, thats what gives the worms/plugs/anchovies a near permanent seal.

That kit really works if like everything you use it right.

Oh and on the Hans Damphs, they had been absolutely ragged and i am amazed they lasted that long. My point was that the plug repairs really do last the length of the tyre if done right 🙂

My thoughts exactly. Maybe it does work without - never tried!
