Going to the venue Tuesday evening, Liscombe Park in Soulbury.
AFAIK it's all horse territory, possibly some woodland.

What can I add if it is just flat horse riding land?
What's the 'normal' distance?

Ta

Cheers. Didn't know about the 2m minimum rule.

Good luck, not an easy task putting on one of these events.
Yeah the 2m rule is a bit of a bugger - NDCXL league races usually seem to incorporate a bit of twisty singletrack somewhere to keep the courses interesting though!

Cheers
I'm getting a lot of help. Sort of reward for doing so much in just a short time. We have two chaps from BC coming down to inspect the area.

Only problem is I know for a fact is that it's pancake flat.

Corners. Lots of corners. Fast sweeping ones, tight, 'sprint out the other side' ones, chicanes, anything you can think of.
The rules on obstacles have been relaxed slightly so put a few of those in as well. If you can get into the woodland and still make the course wide enough for overtaking then you're laughing.

When you get down to it, it's the riders that make the race.

I was talking with they guys who do the cyclocross round in Southampton. The next race is on November 13th and he is going to send me his track design which I can forward on if you want. He reckoned it was 3m not 2m.

AP might be able to help - he has designed several of the Hillingdon courses. Don't let K take away the design of the course from you - he does like to take over!!

WCA...... I think 3m applies to Premier, A & B category races only.

I'll get in touch with Andy.
It's the first round that they want us to hold. So no pressure and four weeks to sort the whole thing.

Now have three local venues on my list.

Question, do we need prizes for the adults or medals for the kids?
Edit; read the rules 😳

og - drop me a line I can tell you what you need. I can email you the L/SE league info/spreadsheets which include prize lists etc.
25th September? Can't be there unfortunately (3 Peaks) but if I can help otherwise...
I assume that you're meeting Kel & Mark?

Mark and Barry from the Ickneild.

Pretty well up against it, as we have nothing and no experience. I'm actually hoping that if we can secure the venue, the other guys will take over.

For the children's prizes I was fortunate enough to know someone at Evans who donated boxes of multi tools, water bottles and puncture repair kits. Speak to your local bike shop to see if they are willing to donate anything. Don't forget to recognise them as prize donators on the day and put the prizes in their bags as extra publicity.

Met with British Cycling and the guys were great. They really want to help clubs promote events.
Mind now at ease.
Looking at a course that could be the hilliest on the leagues calender. We have a massive school playing field with a gate out onto a huge mound/hill to play with.

LL I'm trying the big three distributors in the area.
