Any locals to Hoff know of an off road route to connect up and return from the Slack Randy route? I stay in Hoff every now and then, looking for a ride from the door. I can ride along the B6260 but was hoping there might be an off road route.

There are no great alternatives, you could ride up the road to the top of the hill and turn right to head towards kings meaburn and then drop down brackenslack lane in to maulds meaburn. The roads are quieter that way but you add distance. I live in maulds meaburn so by all means drop a line if you are in the area sometime

Cheers both, is the Slack Randy route all open to the public? No private bits I take it?

Be nice to ride from the door and not have to drive somewhere.

If you send me your email address as a message I can send you a pdf of the route with the marshall points.

Ride up the road to marshall point M3 head towards M4 and do the first loop from there. The route is a figure of 8 from Crosby Ravensworth school if you wanted to do a short loop you could go back through points M4 & M5 and keep going towards Drybeck.

If you do the full figure of 8 then head back up towards M3 and turn left at bank head farm to get back on to your road home.

The full figure of 8 from Hoff will be about 30 miles
