HKT protect tape, anyone fitted using slip solution?

There fitting guide says dry and heat but wet methods tend in my experience to get better results with other tapes. Was wondering if anyone has used the wet method with HKT film and if it worked fine (i.e. does not ruin the adhesive).

I've fitted it both ways. First time dry, following their instructions and it's didn't go on easily - looks like small air bubbles underneath, not invisible like Invisiframe does. So next time I tried the wet approach (what Invisiframe recommend): exactly the same outcome! I guess it's down to the adhesive rather than application method.

I'll not bother with it again.

Thanks, good to know it will at least go on that way even if the bubbling is the same. I find it easier to avoid finger prints with the wet method.

If it was a new frame I'd be using invisiframe. Didn't seem like a worthwhile investment in a second hand frame with a couple of marks already. It's also a glossed raw finish which I thought invisiframe was overkill on when I did the last one.

I've used two HKT matte kits applied dry and they both went on fine. No issues with bubbles.

Why not just ring and ask, they are great!

Careful. Lots of vinyl has water based adhesive these days so if they say dry, it’s probably for a good reason.

Applied it dry on mine and the other halfs bikes without major issue. Hairdryer makes it easy to shape though does shrink back a little, too much heat make it a mess.

Why not just ring and ask,

Ring, and speak to an actual person...... 😜. Probably the best bet though, it's just so easy to ask here.

That was what I was worried about.
