…at 9:00pm tonight.

[IMG] [/IMG]

4th Feb 2012.
10:00 – 12:00
£17
Philips Park, Whitefield, Manchester.

2 hours, 3 ½ mile laps, berms, rocks, water, steps, that hideous grass climb and some new bits.

Also including: brass band, catering, trade stands, showers at the rugby club (you’ll have to pay a little bit extra for them on the day) and some other stuff that we are still working on.

It will be another epic!

Limited places… and this one always sells out.

Credit cards at the ready boys and girls.

A quick question, i've never done an MTB event but £17 and Manchester appeals. The site shows CX bikes, so is it a CX event or will my bog standard MTB be OK?

Hmm. Might have to organise a BBB delegation to come and observe, a la Amnesty International/UN, see what can be learned from our Northern Bredren...

Will there be an 'insult your own child' event? Hora car wrapping race? Will the Starbelly be there, so's we can come and gaze at it in awe and wonderment?

Will any Horas be abused/made to suffer as a result of this event?

Hora's been threatening to enter HTN since the beginning of time. He never turns up though.

We're not big on rules. Apart from having 2 wheels and 1 rider anything goes. I want to see a Grifter.

There will also be the usual Saturday night lash up in the pub afterwards where we can entertain any cock-er-ney guests. They've got rooms and secure storage if you need to stay over.

He'd borrowed that bike off a mate for the race and lost it big style going down "Preparation H". So named because if you get it wrong you will drive your seat right up your ass.

Note the missing seat. 😯

We'll sort out preview rides to test the new bits too.

And, if we can sort it out with the lap scorers, there will be a team/club/squad/bunch of mates contest where the highest 3 finishers from the same team/club/squad/bunch of mates win something ace or rubbish depending on what we can get from our sponsors.

Any chance you could book the Stone Roses to play the finishers across the line? (I'd not want them to usurp the brass band at the start, and chances are they'd not be out of bed in time for that anyhow)

Ton, if you are at the bottom of that hill again, the least you can do is walk up and carry the bikes down for us.

you should be able to carry 1/2 doz a time. 😆

That way it will save me falling off. 😳

No no - I was one of the frustrated MTBers trying to get past the crossers on that bit.

I did hit the post once though.

Maybe you should change the event name to 'Hit the Post'

at least he enters your event, we've done 16 and have yet to see a soul from STW towers and we are 10 miles closer 🙂

Am I missing something, is this just a two hour race over 3.5mile loop? If so I assume the loop is challenging/ good fun. Will check work diary tomorrow and hopefully be free to enter, the banter looks good.

Bull's Eye.

It's either a not too serious event for the have a laugh brigade or a 2 hours flogging for the 24 hour / 3 Peaks CX podium botherers.

Mud, sweat and gears.

HtN's winter sprinter is the funniest, gloopiest most unpretentious event in the calander. Come on down. Have a two hour blast round a sticky tricky trail then have a bacon butty and a few pints afterwards.

Looking forward to it already.
