After owning a Hightower since April
with one failed shock replaced under warranty, I'm curiuos if anyone has tried the 150 conversion with a FOX shock ??

I popped the shock iin from our Bronson with the chip in the 29er setting (shock de pressured) there's plenty of clearance on the seat tube with a 2.35 Mavic tyre fitted, I'm keen to try it out but thought I'd see if anyone else has tried it ? And what your findings were.

Looks like it's pretty tight and possibly not worth the risk for 10% more travel. I think 650B+ wheels are smaller outer diameter and your meant to run that in the 'high' chip setting anyway so maybe 150mm with 650B+ and 135mm with 29 is the way to do it?

Indeed. I suspect the scrub marks on the back of the seat tube would be the giveaway... Rumours on MTBR that SC are playing around with a revised linkage that will allow the HT to run a longer shock but that could be BS. Greg Minaar posted a photo of one on his IG with Fox 40s and what looked like a DH shock, but maybe that was just some sort of 29er DH Mule.

If you're gonna do it anyway, stick the rear wheel off the Bronson in there too.

And maybe fit some shorter cranks.

From reading the MTBR thread it sounds like what will work is dependent on tyre size and also frame size (less clearance on larger sizes).

The other alternative is to use a shock that can be 'buffered' (e.g. Cane Creek DBInline I think) to a slightly shorter travel - a 1mm reduction in shock travel may give sufficient clearance at the expense of slightly less suspension travel.
