Having just discovered the hard way how easy it is, even at quite low speeds, to break a fibula going over on your ankle in a crash, I'm wondering whether the outcome would have been better if I'd been wearing footwear with some ankle support.
Is there anything MTB specific out there? Preferably SPD compatible.

The northwave winter boots don't provide much suppourt, more like an XC shoe with a gaiter, not sure if the lakes are similar.
I've broken my arm 3 times, just write it off to bad luck. You're no more likely (supposedly, once healed) to break it again than anyone else.
