Was thinking of doing this on the ebike is this pretty much completely rideable as ebike is great when pedalling but a complete pain when pushing. Also what kind of timframe are we looking at.
Cheers Mark
Which direction or route are you thinking of? Doing it from Hartsop would still be a hike a bike from Hayeswater.
But to your question, from the north it would all be eminently rideable. It's probably all rideable on a neeb if you can be arsed.
The most important thing is to do it when it's bone dry or frozen, there is a fair bit of bog.
Not that you'll mind, but you'll make a mess for others if it's damp.
Starting and finishing in Patterdale 23 mile loop.Cannot link loop on my phone
Do you mean straight up from Patterdale? I think that would be alot of carrying

This shows the other other less steep way up there are easier ways back

That video is awesome that is so built for my Ebike have to try this one day.
A decent route from Patterdale would be head along the BW on the East side of Ullswater and round to Sandwick, Pick up the BW at the side of the Church in Martindale and basically follow this all the way up to "The Cockpit". Double back Right and head South up the course of the Roman Road to Loadpot Hill and onto The Knott. Keep going to get to get to the High Street Monument. Enjoy the views etc.. then turn round and head North back to The Knott. Turn Left and follow BW all the way back into Hartsop. Or for a cheeky option, fork right off The Knott to Hartsop descent and head over past Angle Tarn and Boredale Hause on the FP to finish back in Patterdale.
There will prob be a couple of push bits round to Sandwick but most of the BW is rideable, maybe more so on an Eeeb
We managed it fine on MTB's so I can't so why you'd have a problem on a moped.
Ok thanks for the replies that gives me something to think about
This is the hike-a-bike from Hayeswater up The Knot to High Street if you are coming from the Hartsop end of the trail. This pic was taken about half way up and the white blob at the end of Hayeswater is a Transit Van. We started and finished in Pooley Bridge, went out following trails alongside Ullswater to Hartsop before climbing up to High Street for the return ride.

Thread Hijack @thegeneralist reckon the flat tyres route is doable for me in a day? Much carrying involved? Looking for another bigger route not too far from ambleside but with a better refreshment stop at the half way point than a random spar!
Hmmmm. Defo doable for you, but not 100% sure it's worth your while or in the right direction...
I went up that HaB pictured above to High Street once, but only because I was doing a Helvelyn & High Street combo. I went up the Dodds ridge of Helvellyn ( as usual) then down Keppel ( I think) up that HaB and then all the way down the north ridge of HS. Great day out, but objectively speaking not very optimal:
Keppel down is shit
North ridge of HS down is dull as hell. It's nice in a grassy, mellow plodder sort of way, but I didn't get the idea that was your thing 😉
Also, no point in HaBing an eeb up that short sharp section pictured above.
I reckon you should reverse my route and tweak it...
Assuming a Pooley Bridge start... eeb all the way up HS north ridge. Should be 100% cycleable.
Plummet down the HaB pictured above. Through Patterdale. Up Kepple Cove ( I assume that's doable on an eeb?) Down Sticks East into Seldom Seen, then up Ullswater back to Pooley Bridge.
Obviously startable at Patterdale instead if you want. Good cafes at Pooley too.
I loved High Street when I did it originally, but that was probably 20 or 25 years ago, on a shittish bike. Since then I've seen the light and reassessed my aims and priorities. I have no intention in going back in the near future except when I finally get around to doing the triple ( adding on Skiddaw to my itinerary above)
< Edit. Just realised that I'm talking bollocks. I did High Street a few weeks back!.... But only as an adjunct to some proper riding. Ill Bell, Yoke, Froswick and Nan Bield...Check out my activity on Strava: https://strava.app.link/jGSfSxMfGrb
TBH, this reinforces my opinion above, only the deluded would get to the top of High Street and then decide to descend the north ridge rather than Nan Bield.
You are obviously correct that boring grassy descents are NOT my thing, however, I'll clearly be alone doing this so not sure I fancy my first crack at NB to be solo in the midst of a 40-50 mile loop, it has to be worth my day pass from puppyhood.
Still yet to do Helvellyn and High Street, due to do NB soon hopefully.
OK, understood. On an eeb I be tempted to do that fat tyres route the other way round then, to replace the HaB with a rideable ascent.
Misses the lovely Howtown descent, but still probable better.
Anyone else got a view on the best direction for that route on an eeb?
For the OP the pull up from Hayeswater isn't that bad, as in you can push if you want and don't ebikes have push mode?
Re HS - it fits naturally into the kentmere round which is how I've usually done it. But you can drop down the footpath over Gawk Hill down to Martindale - great fast terrace and all ridable as I recall - for the ullswater bw return which is good.
