After some mega high rise bars, something to take a beating and currently liking the look of .243 Racings bar for £15 from balfa.co.uk but its 22.2mm (BMX) fitting and theres no mention of shims coming with it. I know I can get DMR shims from CRC but does anyone know if there is a similar bar for 25.4mm as ideally, I'd like to get away without shims...
Cheers
Dave
[cough] you want high rise 25.4mm bars? http://www.singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/fs-ea70-monkeybars-truvativ-cranks-shimano-hub [/cough]
I used to use 2.5inch rise Azonic Singlewall risers. Dont know whether they still make them, but they used to have a nice shape to them.
+ 1 for Azonic bars, they do have a really nice shape to them. I've got a pair of double wall ones and put them on every new bike I get.
Like the Azonics... used them for years but I don't think those, or the Eastons offered above are going to be high enough - they're to bolt onto a 24" jump frame I'm going to hopefully be running with 24" S&M Pitchforks so need 70mm'ish rise... Think I'm going to go for the 243s and just get a shim. Or theres some Brave Machine (?) bars on CRC which seem to fit the bill but no mention of rise and they've got a sh*t name!
+1 Azonics
As above, I had a set for years and they were ace.
You can get 22-25.4mm shims (see ebay, billys...)
22-31.8mm shims are harder to get.
I got some lovely wide high rise 25.4 clamp bars by Deity from CRC.
Jenson USA were doing high rise Easton carbon monkey bars for $55 the otherv week, worth a look.
