You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
As per title and picture, a number of the steep lines below the main path at Heptonstall have had broken glass spread on them. Doesn't seem to be on the older trails (Midgets, Tron etc) just the more recent definitely "mountain bike" trails. It would be easy to roll in without noticing it. Started to clear it up but it became obvious that I didn't have time for it all. Take care if your riding there in the near future.
Sad gits.

Just out of interest, where abouts exactly?
We've had a bit of this around Burnley recently on some family friendly trails.
Are you sure someone isn't just starting to build a gap jump there? it's really only a rusty rake and an ill-conceived landing short of the sort of "trail upgrades" I often see.
Flippancy aside though it does make you wonder what is going on in some people's minds that this pleases them.
Right on the edge of hebden bridge. There's always a bit of friction in the area over trail building, but usually branches etc. Not seen broken glass before. Wouldn't call them family friendly trails!
It's a bit of an issue at the moment in brighouse.not glass but trees pulled across trails .
These are tucked out of the way not harming anyone trails and I wonder in the scale of what is really important in life to actually be angry about why they target us decent people just having fun after working hard all week.

Just tell us which trails, so we can
go and clean them up.
In Burnley it's Towneley Park, mostly the nice new bits that have emerged since the 9 hole golf course was abandoned. Obviously not prime 'Singletrack' but the local kids seem to love it.
We walk or ride it pretty much every night and have noticed loads of broken glass deliberately placed.
Everyone hates it.
The council are aware.
Absolute ****s.
No matter what you think of the trail building, what could ever be the justification for that?
@RustySpanner I assumed my initial description would be enough for folk who ride there to work it out - sorry! The steep trails below heptonstall quarry, dropping from the main path.
Ill be out later today to clear up the rest, I suspect it might be repeated.
Not sure how true it is but I heard a well off person is paying a lad full time to sabotage the trails around Hebden.
We spent a few hours clearing one of the trails of logs that we every few meters thinking it would be rideable for a while but it was sabotaged again a few days later.
If you mean the trails in the Blue Pig area, they're getting blocked regularly by a mate of the landowner - there's been a discussion about tolerating/adopting some of the trails but it didn't go anywhere. Not heard of any other trails being "closed" in the same way.
Wouldn’t call them family friendly trails!
They're definitely not, but loads of dog walkers use the main path and off the leash any dog could blunder into that lot. What idiot does this sort of shit?
Fairy Dust end or The wall ride?

Ah right! Me being daft, not you.
Will have a look and take some bin bags down this weekend.
Thanks for the heads up.
Not been down their for ages.....
@nickc You mean pixie dust? No, other way from the quarry, dropping towards the fox and goose. Not sure what they're named ( they're out of my comfort zone😂)
If its regularly happening you could clean it away then set up a wildlife camera to try and catch the ****ers.

Pretty sure that was done at Yearsley which confirmed who it was. Can't remember who it was that had a word (police or riders) but it stopped.

I mean, even if it slightly flawed intel, surely that needs reporting to the police and they may have a quiet word with them to let them know they are first in the firing line if some poor sod gets injured by it, biker or otherwise?
I strongly suggest getting a wildlife cam set up and catching them and then either having a word or pass it on to the police, its worked in local woods to me. Once we knew who the person was he was confronted and funnily enough it all stopped, they don't like it when they have been exposed.

They think trails attract those types
It will be passed on to the police. All cleared up, third of a fertilizer bag of broken milk bottles. All at the tops of the trails, they hadn't ventured off the footpath.
Yep, thanks @gallowayboy for that. Not my immediate riding area being down the valley somewhat but we have similar challenges sometimes around here...Copley/Elland
There was a very spikey looking log right in the middle of Bearded Lady on Sunday, it's not their anymore.

If you're on Facebook a nod to the local dog walkers wouldn't hurt either, after all, nobody would want to see a dog end up running over that lot!
I always laugh when I pass the Creativity sign on my way into Hebden, its moved along way from its hippy days hasn't it...
I walked the dog up that way a little while back and moved some broken glass and a few branches and logs, sadly this just seems to inspire even more anger.
Thanks for the clearing galloway boy, much appreciated.
