Replaced the cable in my 2010 x9 right hand 9spd shifter today. After finally working out how it came to bits (searched for a cable port that wasnt there), ive put it back together and all is not well.
the thumb shifter moves the first shift ok, then travels twice as far to select the next and so on and so on. I think its something to do with the spring tension or the torque on the centre bolt.
Has anyone had this before ? is it goosed ?
thanks in advance.

Never had this problem. You sure you got the cable in correctly? There's a little 'pivoting arm' between the cable end holder and the hole in the shifter body that used to get knocked out of the way when I've tried replacing the cable on these before?

Shouldn't be goosed just from trying to change a cable? Open up the other side and compare it?

I think these shifters are warrantied for two years.

I think that if the main sweep lever is getting stuck and won't return then that is a common fault with these and you should try warranty at Fishers.

I think these shifters are shit.

I think the cable housing is very awkward and sits under the main coiled spring.

I think that if you have dislodged one of the other interdependant springs which pivot off various points within this pathetic sad excuse for a gismo then you are in trouble.

I think you have several hours of unplanned entertainment in front of you in sorting this out.
