I'm looking at a new purchase and with modern geometry I'm unsure on sizing.
Height wise I'm 5'8 and currently ride a medium Stumpy Evo.
Looking at the Mondraker's, the Dune in particular the reach suggests a small would be 30mm longer even with my current stem considering.
How tall are you and what size do ride?
Mondraker's Forward Geometry is designed for a very short stem i.e. either their 10mm, 20mm or 30mm stem so fathom that in to your decision.
Stumpy Evo Medium: 590mm effective top tube + 50mm stem = 640 overall seated reach
Foxy Small: 615 effective top tube + 30mm stem = 645 overall seated reach
Foxy Medium: 635 effective top tube + 20mm stem = 655mm overall seated reach
All in the same ballpark really. A lot of people keep going on about how you should only size a bike based on standing reach and stack but unless you're doing uplifts all day and need to actually pedal the bike around a bit then the numbers above should give you a general idea of what you may need.
The best way to see if you'd prefer small or medium frame would be to sort out a test ride though.
