Hi, i have recently bought a bike that has a mavrick seatpost on it and took it for its first thrashing at gizburn in the rain :-(, well im guessing thats where my problem started, the seatpost now will not lift on its own. So im wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of a service kit or the likes? Also a guide would be helpful to ;-).

Thanks

hi and thanks for the help P20.

Junkyard was just reading a post about the mavrick that you helped with but didnt bother commenting on that as it was 2yrs old!

Got your email was wondering if you know where i can find these service kits as google isnt coming up with the goods this time, i think its got something to do with the fact that mavrick has been taken over by crank brothers.

Again thankss for your help! 🙂

It's the same as a joplin. My joplin did this after first wet ride. Thankfully a lower tube service takes 2 minutes and only needs one tool. Fit a shock boot or section of inner tube mine has been fine since I did this 6 months ago.

Try contacting Craig Simpson from Simpson Cycle Services about parts. He's the font of all knowledge when it cones to Maverick and 100% more use than their importers.

Doubt it needs any parts just remove lower tube clean and re grease. My locked solid after one wet ride, on strip down it had filled with dirty water as top seal is rubbish.

iirc the parts are still basically the same but here 2 Pure wont sell for mavericks however European distributors will sell Crank bros stuff. I would contact 2 pure and see about a Joplin one. I suspect [ dont know for certain ] that they are the same certainly the guide blocks, and outer sleeve were as i bought them from 2pure when the supported the Maverick.
I still get about 6 e-mails a year about that thread. i dont have mine any more as it does not fit any of my frames. I liked it and had no real issues with mine TBH
