Problem is I feel rather daunted about the internal cable routing on my Specialized and I need to change the cables as they're not long enough. Am I going to get them out and then find I've got one hell of a fiddly job getting the new ones in? Who else has done this? Any tips?
Use the old ones to pull the new ones through...decent duct tape is your friend.
Basically what he said. There's all sorts of methods people use to join them but duct tape (and very clean cables) works for me.
If you're ever removing hte cables and not instantly replacing them, attach a bit of string to the old ones and pull that through.
Thanks. Still not sure it's going to be easy. I guess I need a quiet couple of hours to figure this without my puppy helping or ask LBS to do it. He sold me the cables but said he's not keen on doing the job 🙄
