Bike desperately needs some new bearings for its bottom bracket and front hub

I don't know what bottom bracket I have though, it's a MK1 Solaris with a threaded BB. Bought it new from a shop and can't remember what BB was fitted. Is there a way of working out which one it is so I can change the bearings? Or are they all the same?

i also need to change the bearing in my hope pro 2 evo front hub. Do I need to buy the tool to change the hub or can you bodge this with a socket and a screwdriver? I've had the hub 4 years and this is the first time I've had to anything so I'm reluctant to buy special stuff as I don't know how much i'll use it, but if it really makes a difference then I'm happy to. It's a 15mm maxle if that makes a difference

can anyone please tell me which generic bearing I need, rather than the hope kit?

Hope front hub bearings are a doddle. You can virtually do it trail side with a couple of rocks. Loads of vids on YouTube. No need for special tools.

Threaded bb usually just replace the whole thing cups and all unless it’s a Chris king or hope. What sort you need depends on the cranks.

Hope use standard bearings - have a look on their site they have expanded diagrams of their hubs which show the bearing numbers.

The BB - it's likely to be either a standard 24mm spindle HT2 or if you are unlucky a SRAM GXP. If the former just get a Hope. I replace the RaceFace BB on my Solaris after 1500km, the Hope has now done 13,000km and is still smooth.
