I've just fitted a Capreo rear mech to my Pitch as an alternative to a Tiagra.
It's gone on with a road cassette and everything seemed ok until first proper test ride.
When the bike bounces around the mech hits the frame, I figured this was no big deal as I could adjust the b tension screw to move the mech body away from the frame but that's making no difference, I also see that when in the lower couple of sprockets it's the top of the outer cage that hits the frame which I've not seen before.
Am I missing something obvious or is there something about this mech for bikes with silly little wheels that means it will never set up right?
Ta.
Isn't it meant for small wheel bikes and tiny cogs?
And not mountianbikes?
Yes, meant for small wheel bikes and road cassettes. I've fitted a road cassette which falls within the stated range of the mech so hence wondering if there is something different about the shape or geometry of the mech.
I've seen one in passing used on a mountain bike and it seemed to stack up against the cheap regular road rear mech I was going to buy Tiagra so figured it was worth a punt, maybe not.
Thanks for the help though.
Fair enough, presume chain length etc ok-need shortening?
You could pad the stay with old tubes. Not sure if you want to file the cage away much.
Almost bought one myself!
