[Closed] help -- which front mech and chain for 9 speed Shimano set-up?

last question from me re chain sets, I promise!
So on my new XTR M985 double crankset are the words "use only 10 speed chain."
It's the trail one, 38-26t.
I want to run this 9 speed with a new m972 rear mech I found, a short cage shadow one.
I still need a front mech and new chain.
I guess I need this top swing front mech -- http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54892
the M985, to match the crankset?
And for a chain the new XTR one -- will this chain work with a 9 speed cassette (I have an XT one)?
the cables were new last year and I've only been able to ride a dozen times or so! I guess those will be fine?
Oh, I have m970 shifters.
