It’s on the end of the axle on my new Mavic Crossmax wheel on both sides, not sure what it is. I need to convert the wheel to QR for my El Mariachi SS (which it’s compatible to do) so guessing this needs to come off ?

It's not some kind of boost adapter is it?
That’s just the axle end cap. Should be fitted for use as 15mm or 12mm rear. They are threaded on to the axle.
So I do just unthread this to remove it ?
