Hi Guys & Girls,

I'm currently undertaking my first custom bike build and I'm struggling with all the different standards...

I'm building up a Cotic Solaris Max frame (148mm boost rear spacing/ English thread 68/73mm BB shell) and I'm looking to use a Hope Pro 4/ Enduro Boost rear wheel.

I'm waning to use the Sram GX Eagle groupset with 175mm cranks as this will give me roughly the same gear range as my current 2x10 setup and I've got a few questions surrounding the matter...

1) Is there a boost and also a non-boost version of this groupset or are websites just advertising them differently?

2) There appears to be 24mm and 30mm 'interface' options. What the hell does this mean and which one do I need?

3) And finally, would the Sram Alloy GXP Bottom Bracket be the one to use?

Sorry about the noob questions!

Thanks in advance!

1 Boost and non boost is the chainring offset.

2 24/22mm is a standard GXP bottom bracket spindle, 30mm is for PF30. BB30 etc.

3 Yes GXP threaded BB, unless you want to upgrade to a Hope etc

I take it your rear wheel has an XD freehub?

Thanks for that! So I’m guessing that if it isn’t specified whether it is boost or not is is probably non-boost?

Yess, the rear wheel will be XD freehub (when I can afford it!)

Depends on the seller, some list both, some only one with no other info/options.

The ones I've been looking at are either marked up as boost or not. Only difference is either a normal chainring or a boost one.

Just to add more confusion for you. A friend recently bought the non boost version for his boost bike, realised his error and ordered a boost chainring before trying it.

The non boost fitted fine as the chainring had clearance on his frame and have a better chainline then the boost ring.....

Good luck 😁

Jesus! This all sounds very confusing.

am I blind, or does this listing not mention either boost or non-boost?...

It's non boost if it doesn't mention it.

Worst thing that can happen if you mess up is you need to buy a different chainring.

Sorry I can see my original post was confusing.

Boost groupset will say boost

Non boost will not have non boost in title. It'll just be as your link shows.
