Morning all! My son has a new frame for Christmas, and we are enjoying some dad and lad time transplanting all the bits over from his previous bike. He has a 10 speed slx direct mount clutch derailleur, but the new bike has a standard mech hangar.
What part to I need to find/order to fit this mech? Google suggests a bracket axle link- does that sound right? Sorry if it’s a stupid question, he’s very excited to get riding but we’re a bit stuck!
Probably one of these - but check model no's there is list of which models they is compatible with.

If you don't know what model it is post a pic here and we can help. But somewhere on the derailleur body there is normally the number stamped/cast into it.
This one is more universal and fits lots of 10 speed mechs. Also useful if you want to increase cassette size eg 40 or 42 teeth on the biggest ring.

Failing that a new 10 speed shimano derailleur.
Someone beat me to it.
Yep you are looking for a B-link. If you have an old derailleur lying about they are often interchangeable (but don’t hold me to this)
Thanks everyone, really helpful as ever. I’ve found the model number and ordered the part. Happy Christmas!
