CX bike has Shimano 105 on a 110BDC 4 arm setup.

I want to swap out inner chainring for 34t (from 36t).

Some websites suggest have to buy a 105 specifc ring?

Do I? Or what are the alternatives?

Cheers for any help.

36t down to a 34t should be OK. I found going the other way
Was prone to not shifting at the front if I was toward the 11
End of the cassette.

The back of the big ring has a ramp that finished where the inner
Teeth start so putting the 36t on meant the downshift didn't work
And the chain ended up sitting between the 2 but not jammed !!!
