Namely screwing in the rear mech to the hanger. I've bolted in many rear mechs in my time, but just bought a new dolan, and the threaded hole on the hanger to screw in the mech is too big. Never had this issue before. I thought all rear mech bolts were the same size. Do I need some kind of sleeve to make it work?

Threads haven't been stripped, both hanger and mech are brand new.the hole is just far too big.

I was expecting one of those aligning stem with front tyre using lasers threads.

Are you sure the hole isn't for bolting on a derailler hanger, which is missing? Of is it designed to have some sort of breakable insert that is missing? It sounds to me like something's missing.

Is this a stealth rant against new standards?

Pic via link. It's definitely a mech hanger. I don't think I'm missing anything. I thinking just the wrong size.

The thread on a normal QR rear axle is the same as that on a rear mech. Might be an easy way to check, if you have a wheel/hub hanging around. That photo does make the hole look too big, in which case I'd be asking Dolan whether there is a bit missing.

Just asked them. The hanger is faulty apparently

You appear to be missing the helicoil or threaded insert

To be fair,it is on the bottom shelf and out of focus.

Would the focus affect the fit, though? Maybe it would feel a bit more vague and fuzzy as you wound the bolt it?

I'll try wearing my wife's glasses next time I'm doing this, in the name of Science.
