I'm really tempted to buy an On One Whippet with the rigid fork but keep putting it off. The Whippet seems excellent value at 1k.
I currently have:
2015 Whyte T130
2016 Bird Zero TR
Road bike - mostly used on a turbo.
Rigid SS that is feeling very old now and a bit too small (originally a jump bike from 2001)
I was originally planning on replacing the Whyte this year with something newer but theres nothing wrong with it I really can't fault it. The Bird is great too but I fancy something light and fast that would get a SS conversion for the winter. It would also be my first 29er so could broaden future full sus replacements.
Sorry, not had time to read your post but my advice would be yes, sounds like it's a need rather than a desire.
Mick
No you don’t need it but buy it anyway 🙂
I would.
Be more vague about the number you currently have and just sire another one. Works for our PM.
Having made a similar thread myself, I have a half build Whippet and carbon fork package sat in the spare room.
I too don't really need it. Started off as a road bike desire, then full cross bike, then rigid 29er, then frame and fork only as I have most of the bits already.
One thing with a light ish rigid build, is it doesn't half let you know how heavy a wide range cassette is when you pick it up centrally !
That jump bike needs replacing with a rigid 29er.

If you dont want it and it's a size small let me know...
Coronavirus is going to bring about the end times, so what do you have to lose.
Crack on.
If I could I’d have loads of bikes. Sadly down to the one rigid at the moment. Crack on! You only live once
I don't understand the question!
You want a new bike: get a new bike. 🙂
get shot of the SS if it's not getting used
The SS gets used a lot this time of year so the new bike get a SS conversion over winter too so I'd probably get the SX build as it comes with a shimano freehub. I'd been looking for a dedicated SS frame for a while but most are heavy and expensive.
Go for it if it,s the right bike for you and compliments the others although it might clash with the jump bike but sounds like it will be better
mjsmke, mines a large and I've not even built the thing yet - no chance of selling it quite so soon !
