You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Wife's 40th at beginning of September and she would like to go to the top of a big hill on our bikes as we haven't been up one together since daughter came along 5 years ago.
So, is there a ride to the top of a "mountain" that:
Is ~90 mins from Dundee.
Has good views
Doesn't require (too much) hike a bike
Is more flow than gnarr on the way down
(Heartbreak Ridge doesn't count, excellent ride but she has done it many times!)
Traiforks has options but no opinions so all suggestions gratefully received!
Ta,

Sgor Gaoith in Glen Feshie? Take the main fire road up, pedallable (just) the whole way, outstanding views, descent not too tech, if she did HR this would be fine.
Has good views
Scottish weather may not allow
Sgor Gaoith would be my first suggestion too.
Cairngorm itself would be another suggestion. You have a high start at the Cas car park. Not exactly a wilderness experience at the moment due to the ongoing construction.
Carn a Chlamain in Glen Tilt.
A non-Munro suggestion would be Culardoch near Braemar.
Having done it rectory for the first time, thanks to guidance on here Beinn a’Bhuird from Linn of Quoich would seem to fit the bill.
Glas Tulaichean from the Spittal of Glenshee is rideable all the way up if you have the legs. It's short though, just over 2 hours to get up and down.
Beinn Dearg from Bridge of Tilt (Blair Atholl) is only a small amount of hike a bike and the descent is more interesting. A longer day out with better scenery.
Or closer to home how about Auchnafree? Almost all landrover track to the top, massive long fast descent (landrover track again for most of it) and you can finish at Comrie Croft for laps and/or cakes.
Auchnafree is a good call, or nearby Ben Chonzie is a gert big track for 50% then short push, really nice ridge to ride.
Thanks for the suggestions, which ones have the best (singletrack) decents?
Beinn a' bhuird is an absolute classic, it has been said it is one of the best singletrack descents in the UK, this is pretty subjective though, 650metres of continuous descending only marred by some small waterbars easily hopped.
