Help! I don't know what to do.

It was late at night just before Christmas and I was just off to bed when the CRC sale e-mail popped into my inbox.

I clicked on it and the first thing I saw was the most bargainous sale of Fox Float 32RL forks reduced from £720 to £180.

I have been looking for a new set of forks for one of my three dialled bikes PA frames for a while so I clicked on them and added to the basket, checked out and paid.

It was only a few minutes later that I realised that the forks have a 1.5 inch steerer which of course the PA's nor any of my other frames have either.

I thought about cancelling the order but when I checked the following morning they had already been dispatched.

So what do I do?

- send them straight back when they arrive?
- try and sell them on either here or via the bay of E?
- buy a new frame with a 1.5 inch steerer?
- A.N. other option?

Hope you all had a great Christmas.

Buy an mmmBop or blue pig and stick the fork on there.

Those forks tempted me until I saw the steerer size.

New bike build for the new year - go on, treat yourself! (Carbon 456?)

edit - 456 has a tapered headtube sorry!

i'd say get a ragley - the price of those forks plus the price of those frames = BARGAIN BIKE

I'd send them back.
By the time you've bought a new frame, 1.5 headset and 1.5 stem it's going to get very expensive, and the forks won't be such a bargain.

And does anyone really spend £720 on forks?

erm well what i've done, is this exactly 😛

bought those forks, got a cane creek xII headset (reduced from £99.99 to £45) and am now looking for a 20" ragley mmmbop frame.

got a bit carried away with the sales etc so it's turning into a new bike build, but it'll be worth it once it's finished 😀

soo, for roughly £600, this'll be the spec:

frame: Ragley Mmmbop
fork: Fox 32 Float RL
headset: Cane Creek X-II
stem: Deity (1.5" with a 31.8mm clamp)
bars: Fire-eye FE-318, white
grips: Superstar Supagrippa, blue with white lockrings
brakes: Avid Elixir R
crankset: Shimano SLX
front mech: Shimano SLX
rear mech: Shimano Deore (will be upgrading)
cassette: Shimano Deore (will be upgrading)
seatpost: FSA carbon
saddle: WTB Pure V 09 (i think.. :P)
rims: Alexrim DP17 (i think.. :P)

not bad for £600, eh? 😀
