I don't actually [u]need[/u] a new bike but Cycle to Work scheme starts soon so it would be rude not to!
-Currently got a Focus'cross bike which ticks the road / cross / cummuter duties
-Got a 07 Stumpy FSR which does me fine and when it is ready to be replaced will be with a bike costing more than the £1k C2W limit.
-Got a retro Lava Dome which is great for kiddy trailer towing duties and a bit of retro off road fun (also potential singlespeed conversion for future)
I reckon I therefore need / want a decent hardtail for local day riding, evening loops and general jack of all trades duties!
Requirements are:
Slopey top tube (always loved the geometry of the Kona)
Not too racey
Mid travel fork
£1k limit, prefer around £800 though
Quite fancy something with an Alphine hub
Little bit niche, not wanting anything too mainstream.
I'm looking forward to all the suggestions, ideally with photos!
