Hi
Just had new bearings fitted and washer.
I've now re fitted and there is tension on the cassette.
So when it free wheels the chain, cassestte all go round, if I hold it back it feels like there's tension there.
Caps are in right, spins fine in fingers it's just the resistance on the hub.
Help.
Thanks
It seems to be.
Does it still do it if you undo the tension on the quick release/axle?
Yes even when spun up in fingers free wheels nice then hold the hub, then there's resistance.
Grease on the pawls too heavy/too much?
Normally it's spacers in the wrong place or something, if it's not that I'd ride it and see how you get on.
It's had new pawls and springs.
The hub comes off and on freely. No grease on pawls and spring.
Is the 2mm washer in place behind the 1st free hub bearing and 1st hub bearing?
IS this just like a Pro 2? If so, has the freehub seal been really "popped" into the hub?
5 minutes in
If I take the free hub off there is a 2mm washer inside.
I will double check the seal.
I have the seal all the way in,
Are the freehub bearings easy to turn when you've removed it from the hub? If they've been fitted using a socket instead of a proper press, the outer race may have been pushed in too far, causing mis-alignment.
Hi
All bearings spin nice and pressed in using proper tools.
My lbs did the bearing and pawl change.
I will speak with them today.
The only thing im thinking is that there is no grease around the pawls and spring and maybe it should have a little, plus is it the fact they are new springs and pawls? will they loosen up?
