Got the bike last year, only ridden a couple of times and it's a dream on the flats and when pointing up, but pointing the thing downwards and it turns into a she-witch!
Read this review on BR http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/full-suspension/product/review-gt-sensor-carbon-expert-27-5-14-48310/ which mentions increasing the travel to 150 to improve the geometry!
A) has anyone don't this (can it be done as they say)
B) anyone got a link to how to do it?
C) any suggestions at all would be nice
Cheers
Hi,
First up disclaimer, I haven't done this with any Rockshox forks (only fox) and if you don't feel competant get a professional to do it 😉
However, it should be as easy as a basic service to be honest.
I would also suggest that you might need more than a couple of rides to really assess the capabilities of the bike.
But when it comes time the appropriate information is here:
Service manual for the 2014 Sektor which I believe is the model on your bike. The first section describes taking out the air spring and how to add or remove travel spacers (in your case remove...).
Thanks Ben, I'm gonna go for it however I'm going to have a qualified bike surgeon to remove the spacers! Thanks for your help 🙂
