Just got a new wheel and need an CL adaptor. Just about to hit "buy" but then noticed it said "suitable for 9mmQR -15mm thru axle. There is F all info on DT Swiss website that I can find.

There looks to be two versions available. I have a 12x142 rear axle

Will this one work - seems to be the most common one out there

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/dt-swiss-centrelock-to-6bolt-fitting-adapter-15mm-axles/

OR do I need this one - looks to be an older version

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/brakes/dt-swiss-centrelock-to-6bolt-fitting-adapter-qr-9-or-12mm-axles/

I guess the first option is just the newer version??

I need to get it right the first time as I need to use the wheel next weekend. I have a 200mm rear disc and most of the ones I see with the second part number have max 160mm disc limit

They do two versions because some road forks have super tight clearances and the larger external spine lock rings can catch the fork.

The external spine version however doe fit over 15 mm axles, which internal ones cant fit as the tool wont fit over the axle.

Either will fit a 12mm axle.

Great, thanks. I thought that would be the case. Info from DT Swiss is useless - actually there is none at all from what I can find!

As a rule I use the 12/QR internal spline one for road builds and the external version for MTB.

Be sure to tighten them up to 40nm, into read on here there are people who will tell you they work loose but every instance I've found of this has been the result of them not being torqued up correctly in the first place.
