Hi have just rec'd a a new Giant Anthem 29 er 1 2012 in the post which looks all ok but appears to have a small indent on the drive chain side of the chain stay just by the chain rings. The paint doesn't look damaged and not sure if this is meant to be there (to slightly improve clearance for the chain rings) or not.

Can some one have a look at their similiar bike & let me know if they have the same. Help put an anxious bike buyer's mind at rest!

Thanks

I have an Anthem X1 29er frame awaiting build. Is the indent about 1 cm from the weld and rear lower pivot? I have that on mine.

Hi Yes just starts c 1 cm back from the weld & more pronounced at the top than the bottom. Sounds like it is meant to be there unless we are both very unlucky!

Thanks

Thanks, sounds like a design feature.
