A shortish lady friend wanted a bike to take kid out cycling, so has got a 15" Specialized myka 27.5 , as she picked up the bike the salesman has helpfully said he doesn't think she'll be able to fit a rack or a seat due to clearance issues at the back, so has anybody here done a kid seat on a 15 27.5 myka or on a similar sized bike, if so can you give me some advice on if we can actually fit a seat etc and what makes you used etc

Many thanks

Sorry mods, wrong forum

My wife has a 15" spesh hard rock (26")and the rear child seat used to hit the tyre quite a lot. I think you can get a longer mount for Hamax seats or look at top tube mounted seats.

As above , Hamax do a special mount for smaller frames .

As above, Hamax Sleepy, with possibility of longer fitting bars. They have a nice cushioned bounce to them as well.

I put a Hamax on the wife's xs inbred, it was one of those carriers that clamped to the seat tube and had two springy bars that came up from the clamp to the carrier.

I had to remove the front mech to get the clamp to fit, it all worked well apart from when she rode over big potholes etc which would cause the carrier to hit the rear tyre. I fabricated a couple of braces which ran from the seat stays up to the underside of the carrier using some lightweight bar and pipe clamps and had them powdercoated to match the bike.

It took some of the flex/comfort out of the carrier but she just ran a lower pressure in the rear tyre to compensate and my lad loved being carried in it.
