Found a crack in my Giro Hex this afternoon so I'm after a new one, any recommendations? Budget £60

I'd agree with a Specialized. I've found that Giro and Specialized are the only helmets that fit me comfortably so perhaps they have similar shapes..? Helmet fit and comfort is immensely personal.

If you've got a small swede, CRC are clearing 2012 Giro Xars' at half price.

Just replaced my hex with TLD A1 in the CRC sale. Happy so far. Good fit and good coverage.

Had thought about another hex, but now I think about it I'd ideally like a bit more coverage at the back. Cheers for the suggestions.

Unfortunately, I've got a massive head.

You want a Giro Feature then.

That's why I went for the A1. Not the best colour choice in the crc sale but a good discount

What size was your Hex and how does it compare to the TLD A1? i.e. if I have a large Hex do I go for a large TLD A1?

I had 55-59cm hex (m) which fitted well and bought a 57-59cm A1 (m/l) which also fits well. If you are on the edge of a sizing band might be best to try it but crc have an ok returns policy.

Bought a Bell Super today, fit is as good as the Hex but fits around my head more, rather than on it. Cheers for the suggestions everyone.

if your helmet is less than 3 years old and you still have the receipt, send it back to Madison for a warranty replacement. a replacement will cost you £35

+1 for the Giro feature.

replaced my smashed Hex with a feature - mainly for the better rear cover - a few years back and it's really comfy.
It does run a bit warmer than the Hex, but still OK, IMO.

P.S. I also have a big bonce - hence my login name.
