Hi

Seen thread on lights, but wondering specific helmet lights recommendations.

Already have pretty good handle bar lumination, so after reasonable but not too ££ light for my lid as riding last night felt could have done with second lumination.

Also not too bulky as lots of low branches.

Many thanks

Separate battery or all in one?

DX stylee? Or main dealer?

What's on the bars btw?

Ay-Up- as I said in the other thread, 55g for the light, easy mounting system battery very light. Uk distribution now, cheap upgrades over it's life, any out of warranty failures get done at cost. Twin lwmp so you can have a wider beam spread or focused light.

Ay Up +1 as I said in the other thread. Narrow beam works great on the helmet.

Edit - and they're offering free shipping right now!

Exposure Joystick - had one a couple of years now.

Light (see what I did there 🙂 ), small, mount works well, self-contained and 3 hours on full-power. Plus and you can add a piggy-back battery to double the time.

And cos its so small I can just sling it into my Camelbak, so like last night when we descended into a wood right at the end I could just mount it (also fits the standard q/r bar mount) and see.

The only thing its not is cheap, but I think its good value.

If £££ is a big consideration, the DX lights come with a head mount. I run one with a focused beam on my lid as a second light, with the battery in my Camelbak.

I must say, those Ay up lights do look great for the cash.

going to the other end of the spectrum . . . the Alpkit headtorch is pretty good for £15, just your regular disposable batteries and a rear light too . . .

it chucks out a fair bit of light for the money, it lights up where you look, what more do you want), . . so worth a go for £15, if not, . . . handy for around the campsite and evening strolls.

Smudge light. The cable is long enough to put the battery in your backpack, and the helmet mount is really solid.
