I'm looking for a new helmet to replace an old spesh instinct that needs replacing.

What's a good helmet to look at in the budget above ?

Pref black too.

Cheers
Steve.

this. I tried loads, I ended up with one from Decathlon for quite a lot less than my maximum budget. It came with two sets of pads too, bargain given just how much my pads stink

As above, fit above everything!

However, if Spesh helmets fit, try a Tactic II. I have one as my "spare" helmet and it's really very good indeed.

I've got the Specialized one at about £55.

Fits my head nicely, just as well vented as the Giro that went before but just over half the cost and it's a particularly repugnant enduro shade of green...

+1 on the fit thing too. Some brands just don't fit my big ugly head.

I like the Bell Stoker, both for shape and price. Seems to fit me well enough 😀

I have a Specialised of some kind renton - bought to replace a Giro that was a bit old.

Bought from Stuarts in Forres (so you can try them on).
I can't recall the actual name - Advent? but I tried on ones costing £50, £70 and was happy to buy the one at £30-£35 (and 10% discount as well).
