Can any Hello Dave owners shed some light for me on whether the Hello Dave frame will take a 203mm rear rotor?
If so. What brake and what mount adapter are you using?

I've got a Hope H mount which I thought might be the one, but is completely the wrong shape.

Cheers!

Edit, I've got the new frame with the updated rear end.

180mm on mine on a Shimano 160-180 adaptor.

Would a Shimano ?-203mm not be the correct one?

Can you get a ruler or something in to measure if a rotor 20mm Futher out will fit?

I've got the rotor in no problems. Its the brake adapter and calliper I'm not too sure about as I know the clearance is super tight for the calliper. I seem to remember reading somewhere that a 203 will fit with a different adaptor. But not found anything definitive.

The Hope H mount definitely doesn't work as it moves the calliper backwards slightly, so the adapter doesn't even fit on which is odd. That's currently the only mount I've got.

Maybe I just need to order the mounts from CRC or something to try the different options.

Or just buy the 180mm rotor!

Any +40mm adaptor should fit. I'm not sure what Hope model adaptor is post mount +40 though.
You have turn the adaptor so it pushes the caliper forward and upwards to clear the limited seat stay clearance (hope this makes sense!)

I’m on a large Dave with a 200mm rotor on the rear with a +40mm random mount off eBay - running the stock guide re (old code calliper). It’s tight doing one of the bolts up but it goes.

Was thinking of somthing similar recently. Why does the Shimano have the extra 3mm on the 200? and does this mean you Can't use a generic +40 adapter?

Because the yanks don’t like the metric system due to it not making any sense compared to imperial measurments. They love their freedom measurements.

Thanks peoples,

I've done a bit more digging and it looks like the newer version of the frame is a 180mm direct mount, so I need a +23PM adapter, which the Hope H mount is. That doesn't fit as it moves the calliper backwards, so I'll have to order a different one and see if it fits. Found a Magura one that seems right. Will post up if successful!

Looks like it's a no go annoyingly. The new adapter and caliper fit in there fine, but you can't get a bolt any longer than about 25mm in underneath the seatstay which rules out using the adapter.

It's close, so could chop the end of the bolt off but that would leave too little thread I think.

I could thread the bolt through from underneath and put a nut on top, but that's maybe heading towards being a bodge.

Kevin at adrenaline cycles said he had fixed a couple of hello Dave frames for more clearance for bigger rotors.

Perhaps it's worth getting in contact with him?
