Went there today and sad to say that the work to remove the Larch trees has unfortunately pretty much wiped out all routes.

Routine woodland management, or to stop the spread of Phytophthora?
The signs in January stated that it was to stop the spread of the disease. So I assume this is the reason.
It certainly looks more sledgehammer than routine woodland management.
The biosecurity on these logging operations is zero.
Plenty of evidence that contractors are spreading it around, it becomes a self licking lollipop for them.
This is know by the relevant bodies, they don't even apply their own guidance instead they give written dispensation. Classic example of regulatory capture.
Sad isn't it? Such a popular little site, helping lots of people get into MTB.
I would have been riding it more than ever this year with the current situation.
According to the FB group plans are in motion to organise dig days and resources to get it moving again 🙂

I like Healy Nab but always seem to end up lost on the way back up and going the wrong way towards traffic to get to the top. Luckily it's a quiet spot
