Ok, so my headset seems to be making various creaking noises, and despite putting it in a LBS for a full service they said that it doesn't need looking at, but I am sure that's wrong and they just couldn't be bothered.

I want to buy a replacement as I've no idea about them and could probably be doing with a spare anyway.

I have a Cube Ltd Pro, it is listed as a FSA No 10 semi integrated headset, but Google doesn't really provide much help as to where to buy a like for like replacement.

Anybody any ideas or can advise a worthwhile alternative replacement? Don't mind spending a bit extra if it's worth it.

Is the headset creaking? Bikes are notoriously good at appearing to creak from one component, but it turns out to be something completely different. Did your LBS carry out a service? Maybe your LBS is correct?

The creak is quite likely to be from the handlebars/stem/steerer area

Fromy experience, a worn headset usually "grinds" rather than "creaks".

Try this.

Thanks for the tips, I've ordered a replacement headset, also bearings, which I eventually found at ukbikestore, so will take the stem etc off over the weekend and have a deeper look and make sure it's all greased up and tight. And with a bit of luck will have a spare for the future.
