I have looked for the answer to this and I'm left a little confused.

I have just purchased a 2011 Specialized Enduro frameset. I'm hoping to transfer all the parts from my SC Heckler. Can anyone tell me what I need to run a straight 1 1/8 steerer. Some people suggest the bottom cup size is a proprietary size. Do I need a Specialized adaptor as suggested in the manual?

Any help including links to what I need to get are appreciated.

We ran a Cane Creek adaptor in ours. Its like a giant washer with some rubber on it. Give Specialized UK a ring. They are very helpful and should point you in the right direction

There are no cups on that frame, the bearing sits straight in the hole.
top bearing is MH-P08F (41.8x8x45)
bottom bearing is MH-P16 (52x7x45)

You may be able to use an on-one crown race adapter to get it to fit, but not 100% there.
