Can't for the life of me remove the lower section of my headset from a set of forks I have, even the lbs tried ... Are all lower crowns the same, can I just buy a hope one for example... The race is a caged ball race, not cartridge type...

Unfortunately there are different angles between manufacturers.. Some are the same - hope and cane creek for example, but they both use cartridge bearings. Do you know the make of the original?
