Expect similar to a mountainbike though!
Noticed prior to a sportive last Sunday the headset on my 2015 Cube Agree Race was very stiff - almost to the point where if I tilt the bike over the bars wouldn’t move. Did the ride fine but now very stiff - either needs a good clean out and regrease or new headset/bearings. It’s a Cube tapered integrated one - 1 1/8 top and 1.5 lower (I think!). Easy fix? Not had to mess with a road headset before - especially on a carbon frame. Open up and see how bad it is before buying anything? If I need new bearings is there a go-to place to get them? Cheers
Strip, remove seals, clean, degrease, re fit, sorted. Probably .
Hopefully.
Yeah, or replace it with an fsa! I’m pretty sure thats what came with my Tripster frame and 3 years later, still not had to touch it..
I would pull the fork out for a look.
Hopefully on that level of bike it uses sealed cartridge bearings, so remove, identify and replace if they are corroded. Measure outer diameter, inner diameter, height and inner and outer angles (normally 36* or 45*, but not necessarily both the same). Hopefully a common FSA or Cane Creek size, but there are a huge range of oddball bearings as you would expect with bikes
LBS might help, loads of places online, Kinetic Bike Bearings are handy
