I ride an original Cotic Soul26, with a 1 1/8" straight headtube, and need to change the frame. Anyone know if i can buy a frame with a tapered headtube, and still use the forks i have? Is it just a case of buying a new steerer and headset?

If the forks are 1/18, then I belive they'll go in any standard head tube with the correct headset.

Tapered forks are wider at the bottom of the steerer so that's what limits them to wider head tubes, at least at the bottom..

So you'll just need a new headset I think.

You can use the fork in a tapered head tube. You'll need a headset that makes this possible. There is probably info on what you need on Hope's website.

I can recommend the hope head set for this use and adaptor. I can't remember the code . Zero problems ...so far!
